Pick my brain...
What can I expect during the shoot?
Your shoot will be FUN! I'm casual and relaxed and my vibe is chill! I hope your shoot will be something you look back on with fond memories. I know it can feel awkward, like you're totally out of your comfort zone in front of the camera, but my clients are always surprised with how relaxed they feel, how many laughs they had and how they were just able to be themselves.
How should we dress for our family session?
Neutral tones like beige and white, or earthy tones like olive, brown and copper. Linen and knit to add some texture. It is important that you do love what you're wearing, so my biggest recommendation is to be comfortable and feel good. I do suggest you take the time for hair and make up as you would for any other special event so you feel extra lovely on the day.
What’s the best time to have a session with a newborn?
It just depends on what you're hoping to capture. All ages are perfect in their own way. Under 10 days old is when I can wrap your baby and they are quite content after a feed. Between 2-6 weeks old they will be more alert with eyes open, 6-12 weeks will see more personality and hopefully a smile. Don't stress if you miss those sleepy days, all of the days after that are equally as beautiful to capture.
How many people are included?
All of my sessions are for immediate family and grandparents. For extended family sessions please discuss with me prior to the session. Everyone that comes along to the session will be encouraged to join in!
Can I bring my dog?
Absolutely! As someone surrounded by many fur/hair/wool babies I know how important this bond and connection is, they really are a part of the family and capturing this can be truly priceless. Please keep in mind if the photoshoot is on my property, we are a working sheep producing property and therefore dogs must be trusted and safe with sheep in site. We can also meet at many other beautiful local areas if you feel this may be a problem for your doggo.
Where will the session be?
On my beautiful acreage property located in Broadford, just North of Melb. Overlooking the picturesque Tallarook Ranges. The property has many lovely old gum trees, grassy paddocks, a natural dam and views for days. Newborn sessions can be in your home if preferred, home is where the heart is after all. If this is more than 30km a small travel fee may apply. There are also many local creeks, lakes and fields that make for perfect sessions. We can discuss this in your consult.
What if it rains?
Some light rain can actually make for very beautiful photos and the session will go ahead. If the weather is forecast to storm or be unsafe for either of us the session will be rescheduled.
Deposit/Cancellation?
A deposit will need to be paid upon booking. Canceling last minute will result in forfeiting your deposit. A no show to your photoshoot will result in forfeiting your session and all monies paid. My time and energy are just as valuable to my family as yours is to your family.
